BSA Troop 220, Irondequoit, New York
Created in 1937 and continuously chartered since January 1, 1938
• Long history of Eagle Scouts! Over 74 so far & 5 in the last 2 yrs!
• Boy led: scouts plan meetings & activities with adult guidance
• Goals: Build character, Develop Leadership skills, Foster Citizenship,
Promote Physical Fitness.
• Received “Centennial Quality Unit” Award for achieving excellence in
providing a quality program. Scouts are guided to:
*Live by the Scout Law & Oath
*Gain skills to meet above goals
*Advance through BSA Scout Ranks
• Camp monthly @ various venues (Webster Park, Cutler, Massawepie, Fairhaven,
Letchworth & more)
• Activities monthly (curling, rock climbing, hiking, bowling, biking, & more!)
• Service projects: PTA Next to New breakdown, Scouting for Food & Clothing,
City of Rochester Clean Sweep, Red Deer Days, Coastal Clean-up
• Fundraising: Trails-end Popcorn, Irondequoit 4th of July Games Booth
• Meetings: Tuesday 7:30-8:30pm @ Lutheran Church of the Resurrection
• Uniform: BSA Shirt & Sash, Troop T-shirt
• Parents support the scouts by doing some of the following: driving, camping,
Troop Committee positions, helping scouts plan activities, attend activities.
• There are numerous volunteer opportunities for both mothers and fathers
